According to a recent survey by the National League of Cities, municipal governments are seeing a rising
demand for “survival” social services such as food, shelter and clothing. Tough economic times are
felt the hardest by our nation’s poor while at the same time local and state governments are seeing
federal funding decreases and tightening budgetary constraints. New community-based models are required to
address the needs of our country’s low-income families.
Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) works with community volunteer organizations,
business leaders, and local governments to develop innovative community development programs.
CTC works with Faith-Based and Community Organizations (FBCO) across the country to expand
their capacity for community development. CTC was one of the first organizations to receive
funding from President Bush’s Faith-based and Community Initiative to provide training and
technical assistance to FBCOs. In addition, CTC partners with FBCOs on a wide range of community and
economic development programs – from job training to brownfields redevelopment. These vital
community partners ensure each project has a broad base of support and accountability.
Whether we are researching the childcare needs of low-income families or providing environmental
technician job training opportunities to unemployed and
underemployed individuals, CTC combines
cutting-edge and emerging best practice research with practical on-the-ground solutions to tackle
complex local challenges.
