In the summer of 2002, Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) received a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide capacity building services to faith and community-based nonprofit organizations in eastern South Carolina and coastal Georgia. The project, which lasted one year, delivered grant writing, grants management and 501(c)(3) training to over 500 organizations and distributed nearly $200,000 in sub-grants to 27 organizations. In addition, CTC compiled a database of organizations and related contacts, provided hands-on technical ssistance and distributed resource materials via the project web site.

CTC has recently received funds to continue elements of the program into a second year. These funds will be used to provide grant writing and grants management training and follow-on funding opportunities to selected organizations that applied for funding during the first year of the project.

CTC in a national nonprofit organization that provides real-world solutions that improve the lives of disadvantaged populations and increase a region’s capacity to support economic development. The company has over 1,300 employees in 17 offices throughout the United States, including three offices in South Carolina (Greenville, Columbia and Charleston).
