Training Sessions

As part of this project, CTC will offer two two-day training sessions at subsidized rates on grant writing and grants management. The training sessions will be hosted in Columbia, South Carolina in February and April. Registration will be limited to 30 participants for each session and will begin in December.

Grant Writing

CTC's grant writing training is designed for nonprofit organizations that want to increase their understanding of the grant seeking process and enhance their grantwriting skills. Participants will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with CTC's professional grant writers to identify opportunities, locate resources and draft/review actual proposals.

• Organizational readiness for grant seekers
• Identification of funding prospects
• Conducting fund research
• Introduction to foundation and corporate funding
• Overview of the state and federal funding process
• Proposal writing basics
• Proposal budget preparation
• Basic evaluation design

Come with a project in mind (or a proposal in hand) and be prepared to write!

CTC's grants management training is designed for grassroots organizations to learn the specifics of managing projects, grants and funds. The workshop will describe the basic administrative requirements including the following.

• Budgeting
• Project Management
• Financial Management
• In-kind contributions
• Allowable and unallowable elements of cost
• Audit and record management requirements
• Property and Procurement Standards
• Close-out procedures
