The rising cost of healthcare is major concern of governments, businesses and families. Increasing
numbers of low to middle-income families are not able to afford adequate health insurance. At the same
time, the aging baby boom generation is starting to place greater demands on our nation’s healthcare system
and its workforce.
Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) assists regions with their healthcare challenges
by developing innovative new approaches that leverage advances in information technology. Recent
activities include the following:
- CTC rapidly developed and deployed a regional pilot program that provided new certifications
for x-ray technicians to meet new state requirements.
- CTC established a regional volunteer-based transportation service to enable low-income
individuals in rural areas to access medical facilities.
- CTC assisted in the design of regional healthcare management information
system (MIS) to track and coordinate services for individuals without health insurance.
- CTC developed a business plan for a biotechnology incubator that assists startup
companies in bringing new pharmaceutical products to market.
- CTC, through an affiliate organization, is helping to expand the capabilities of
medical device manufacturers across the country to develop the next generation of safer and cheaper
medical equipment.
CTC is strategically positioned as a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to assist with
collaborative regional efforts such as the examples
provided. Through the application of information
technology and leveraging federal funding streams, we are able to design and deploy results-oriented
programs in the healthcare sector.
